Yanna Liang has been a full Professor and Chair of Department of Environmental & Sustainable Engineering since 2017 at College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, University at Albany, SUNY. Dr. Liang received her Ph.D. degree from Utah State University in 2006. Dr. Liang’s current research focuses on identifying and devleoping innovative solutions for cleaning up sites contaminated by emerging contaminants and addressing critical issues related to the food, energy and water nexus. Dr. Liang’s research has been funded by EPA, NSF, DOE, state agencies and private foundations. She has published over 65 refereed articles and book chapters and presented her research at numerous conferences. Dr. Liang is an ABET program evaluator, an associate editor for Journal of the Air & Waste Management Association and has been a regular panelist for NSF, EPA, NIH, DOE and DoED, reviewed proposals for national and international organizations and countless manuscripts for more than 40 high impact journals. In addition, Dr. Liang is a licensed PE and a Board Certified Environmental Engineer.
