RISE 2019 Conference

Melissa is originally from Aguada, Puerto Rico. She received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez in 2009. In the same year, she moved to San Antonio, Texas to pursue her graduate studies and received her Master’s of Arts in International Relations from St. Mary’s University in 2011. Melissa has been working in Higher Education since 2015 working in Admissions and Recruitment. She currently serves as the Assistant Director or Admissions at Texas A&M University- San Antonio. Melissa’s work is focused on college readiness and access for marginalized communities. Outside her professional setting she enjoys traveling, buying books (she reads most of them), and is an avid baseball fan and host her own baseball podcast featuring Puerto Rico’s winter baseball league.
