Victor Ruiz Aviles is a 2nd year PhD student in the Environmental Social Science program at Arizona State University. He has a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez. Currently has investigating the resilience of small community drinking water systems (community aqueducts) in Puerto Rico during the emergency caused by Hurricane Maria. In addition, it one of the students that arrived at ASU as a climate refugee after the impact of Maria, as part of an agreement reached between the National Institute of Energy and Sustainability Isleña with ASU.
