RISE 2019 Conference

Sandra L. Soto-Santiago is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate-level courses in language and education. She has a doctoral degree in Language, Reading and Culture from The University of Arizona with a focus on Educational Anthropology. Her work particularly seeks to document and understand the intersections between teaching and learning from a sociocultural perspective. Her most recent work and current research interests are on linguistic anthropology, transnationalism and education, sociocultural aspects of education, translanguaging, and social justice and education in both K-12 and higher education settings. She is a Co-coordinator for the Center for University Access (CUA) at the UPR-Mayagüez.
