Curtis Vreeland is Program Manager in FEMA’s National Disaster Recovery Support cadre. This cadre is responsible for planning the long-term recovery of disaster impacted communities. This responsibility includes managing staff members responsible for matching technical resources available from institutions of higher learning with communities in need. During his 15 years of service with FEMA, Curtis has been deployed during Hurricane Sandy as a Federal Disaster Recovery Officer for Long Island, FEMA Liaison to a White House initiative involving the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and to 10 other deployments around the country. Prior to joining FEMA, Curtis worked for several Fortune 500s, including Hershey Chocolate. He has a master’s degree in applied economics, PMP, and was a Peace Corps volunteer in a remote Sherpa area of Nepal.
