Renewable Energy: A Blueprint for Least-Cost Ultra-High Renewable Energy Penetration in Puerto Rico

Time: 2:15 PM - 3:45 PM, November 19

Location: PAC Recital Hall

The second panel on renewables will address the solutions and pathways to a resilient ultra-high RE penetration future. Is 100% reachable? How expensive? What renewable resources? How much space would these resources occupy? are some of the fundamental questions that will be addressed. Beyond the challenges discussed on the first day, this panel will examine how the objectives of a super-resilient power grid can be optimally combined with the objectives of ultra-high renewable power grid. In particular the panelist will discuss the respective importance of technological development, enabling policies & regulations, and roles played by individuals/businesses and grid operators to arrive at optimum least-cost solutions.
