A university educates and performs research. It is a community within itself as well as being part of a larger community that may extend some distance beyond its campus. This panel will explore these functions and dimensions of a university from the perspective of disaster planning and response, with the intent of producing initial generalized outcomes and recommendations that can be developed further in subsequent forums and venues.
